GPA scale converter

Enter a GPA, pick the scale it came from, and see what it looks like on every other scale. Handy when a US grad school wants a 4.0 number and your transcript reads 5.0, or when an exchange partner uses a scale you don't recognise.

Type a value and choose the scale it belongs to. Results update as you go.

This scale runs from 0 to 5.

A 4.5 on the 5.0 (NUS, NTU, SIT, SUSS) scale works out to roughly:

ScaleConverted value
4.3 (SMU)3.87
5.3 (SUTD)4.77
4.0 (US / polytechnics / ITE)3.60
10.0 (India)9.00

How it works

We scale your number proportionally. The GPA is divided by its own maximum to get a fraction, then multiplied by the target scale's maximum. For percentage, the maximum is 100. It's a quick way to compare, not a grade-by-grade mapping.

These conversions are approximate and meant for planning only. Schools rarely map GPAs with a straight ratio, so treat the numbers as a ballpark. For an official application, such as US grad school, you'll usually need a credential evaluation from a recognised body like WES. This tool is not an official conversion and won't be accepted in place of one.
