How CGPA is calculated
Scales differ by school, but the formula is the same: weight each module's grade point by its credits, then divide by total credits.
Formula
CGPA = Σ(Grade Point × Module Credit) ÷ Σ(Module Credit)
Example
| Module | Credits | Grade | Point | Point × Credits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Module 1 | 4 | A | 4.0 | 16.0 |
| Module 2 | 3 | B+ | 3.5 | 10.5 |
| Module 3 | 4 | B | 3.0 | 12.0 |
| Total | 11 | 38.5 |
CGPA = 38.5 ÷ 11 = 3.50
Always use your institution's official scale. That's what PlsGradeMe applies when you pick a school.
