How CGPA is calculated

Scales differ by school, but the formula is the same: weight each module's grade point by its credits, then divide by total credits.

Formula

CGPA = Σ(Grade Point × Module Credit) ÷ Σ(Module Credit)

Example

Module	Credits	Grade	Point	Point × Credits
Module 1	4	A	4.0	16.0
Module 2	3	B+	3.5	10.5
Module 3	4	B	3.0	12.0
Total	11			38.5

CGPA = 38.5 ÷ 11 = 3.50
