Questions

How is CGPA calculated?

Multiply each module's grade point by its credits, add those up, then divide by your total credits. A 4-credit module graded A on a 5-point scale contributes 20 grade points. The calculator handles this for you once you pick your school and enter your grades.

What GPA scale does NUS use?

NUS uses a 5-point scale. A+ and A are both worth 5.0, A- is 4.5, and it steps down to 0.0 for an F. NTU, SIT, SUSS, LASALLE and NAFA use the same 5-point scale.

What is the highest GPA I can get at SUTD?

SUTD runs a 5.3-point scale, so its top grade is worth 5.3 rather than the usual 5.0. It is worth keeping in mind if you are comparing GPAs across different schools.

Do polytechnics and ITE use the same scale as universities?

No. The five polytechnics (SP, NP, TP, NYP, RP) and the ITE colleges use a 4-point scale, where the best grade is 4.0. Most universities here use a 5-point scale, and SMU uses a 4.3-point scale.

What is the difference between GPA and CGPA?

GPA usually refers to a single semester's result. CGPA is the cumulative average across everything you have taken so far. This tool can project your new CGPA from expected grades, or work out the semester GPA you need to reach a target CGPA.

Are my grades stored anywhere?

No. Nothing you type is sent to a server or saved by us. Your school, grades and mode live in the page link itself, so you can bookmark or share a result, and that link is the only place your inputs go.

My school is not listed. Can you add it?

Yes. Send it through the Add school page with its grading scale and we will take a look. We cover the main Singapore institutions and keep adding more.
